Creamy chocolate, date & cashew smoothie

The (not so) secret ingredient that makes this smoothie so rich is a small shot of strong espresso coffee. It just brings to life the flavour of the cacao brilliantly.

All you need is -

1 ripe banana, just starting to spot
2 medjool dates
1 handful of raw cashews
1 tablespoon Milled flax
1 quater mug of quality freshly brewed coffee. 2 tablespoons of Lavazza in the cafetiere does the job for me.
Big cup of almond milk
Pinch of cinnamon, more if you love cinnamon, less if you don't!
1 heaped tablespoon of raw cacao

Pop it all in the blender, blend for about a minute and enjoy! I top mine with some raw cacao nibs for a bitter sweet crunch.

If you like a chilled smoothie but want it straight away then pip a couple of ice cubes in the mix before you blend.
